School History
Lumatag Elementary School of Marilog District was formally established in 1983, under the leadership of the late Barangay Captain Wilfredo Taquiawan. It has an area of 1.25 hectares more or less. It was heartily donated by the tribal people namely Mr. Eduardo Emboy and Mr. Ruben Bayawan through Parent Teachers Association (PTA).
Lumatag Elementary School is located in Sitio Lumatag, Barangay Dalag Lumot, Marilog District, Davao City. It is approximately 15 kilometers from school to Marilog District Office and approximately 10 kilometers from school to crossing Quimasog then a single motorcycle from Quimasog to the school if the weather is good. However, if it is rainy, the motorcycle will reached up to Sitio Katipunan only and from Katipunan to the school is purely hiking and it is approximately 3 kilometers. It is the only neighbor/line School of Magsaysay Elementary School.
The people in the community were composed of different tribes such as Obu Manobo, Matigsalug, Tagabawa, Cebuano and the like. In short, Lumatag Elementary School is an IP School. Farming is the major source of income in the community. There is a harmonious relationship among the parents, community, teachers and stakeholders.
School Mission
Lumatag Elementary School will provide opportunities for the learners to develop their full potentials and skills through improved and effective instructional leadership by school head, improved instructions and classroom management by the teachers and harmonious relationship among stakeholders.

Lumatag Elementary School will produce academically excellent and value-oriented pupils with competent, efficient and effective teachers in a wholesome learning environment, equipped with complete school facilities and with supportive stakeholders.
